Ranks, Service & Chain of Command

The legally recognized command structure and service categories of the Northudankton Community Guard.

Ranks and Service Status

  • Sheriff — elected commander.
  • Captain — intermediate/regional supervisory officer.
  • Deputy — Full Citizen volunteer accepted into service and vested with Guard powers.
  • Guardsman — recognized Guard member used throughout statutory command, uniform, and compensation provisions.

Joining and Removal

Any Full Citizen may volunteer. Service requires acceptance/approval under Guard authority. The Constitution describes accepted volunteers as Deputies. A Deputy may be removed by the Sheriff or the People’s Council for cause or in the interest of public order.

Wartime Transformation

During wartime or martial law, the Community Guard becomes the Northudankton Armed Forces. At that point, the Armed Forces operate under Exterior Committee authority and national defense structures.
